OK, for lead actor.... I'll make this quick, and try to base it off of what Emmy voters are looking for, not personal taste. Billy Miller: Based of the reel, I am left asking myself these questions: How did he make it past the prenominations? How is he nominated based on the reel? Why didn't he choose some scenes with some range? Don't get me wrong, I think he is an exceptional actor, but based on his reel I just don't get why he's nominated. I don't think he has a chance. John McCook: Another great actor, but this time there was more range in the reel. Still, it's short and it feels choppy. On top of that, it's not the best reel. Peter Bergman: Peter can win an Emmy reading a phone book if it's the right year. This reel didn't have all the range it needed to have either, but he is a dark horse, because he is Peter Bergman. I thought the actresses in the scenes with him had better performances than he did. Now, for the last two, neither of whom I am crazy about, but based on what voters are looking for, they have very good chances. Michael Easton: I dreaded watching his reel, and I have never been crazy about him. However, his first scene is enough to land him in the top two. The thing is, his performance got more subdued toward the end. Still, he showed range, emotion, and his reel was substantial. I am no fan, but you never know. The thing is, Billy Miller will take part of the GH vote simply because he had a HUGE story this year. James Reynolds: I actually think he will win. Not because I like all of his acting choices, because God knows I do not. Every time his eyes bulge out, my eyes roll. However, his reel had a lot of range and emotion. He showed anger, rage, sorrow, forgiveness, and eventually relief. I think he has it, based on the reel. Also, there is no other Days actor in this category, and that helps his cause. I'm not a huge fan, but he has what voters are looking for. Disclaimer: James Reynolds spent most of the year on the back-burner. The fact that I think he should win, based on a reel, once again proves to me this system is fucked! Edited by Daysfanatic79, Apr 11 2018, 05:47 PM.

I was watching Billy Miller's reel with my husband in the room and he legit asked me "Is this guy falling asleep?" during the last scene. I'm not sure who I would pick to win lead actor. I wasn't overly wowed by anyone. :-/ |

I watched the Lead Actress reels. I know people are always talking about how amazing Maura West is, but I've never enjoyed one of her reels. She just seems so OTT. It's distracting. I think enjoyed Eileen and Marci's reels the best. Eileen is just so good, and Marci picked a decent collection of scenes. |

The only good scene in Morgan Fairchild's reel was literally the last 20 seconds with Hattie. They really should've showcased the Anjelica/Hattie/Bonnie stuff in her reel, because that's where the real entertainment was. Not with Adrienne and Jennifer. |

I didn't like any of the lead actor reels. Peter Bergman seems to be a favorite, and I really didn't enjoy him at all. I didn't like James Reynolds' scenes the first time, and rewatching it didn't help. I don't even remember John McCook's anymore, but I remember being annoyed immediately. Billy Miller sounds 85. Michael Easton's was annoying. IDK. I'm not rooting for any of them. |

jams6242, THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing this! I added the KNEKT channel to my Roku, activated the code and BAM!, it looks like I'm ready to go. Am so glad I'll be able to watch the awards show on my big screen TV this year and not on a laptop or worse, my smartphone, which I recall doing two or three years ago. |
